Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BMW Group.
Trainee Engineer
Got an immediate test invite right after applying, without any pre-screening. Then there was an online assessment via Eligo, but they didn't give any feedback. After that, a video interview through Visiotalent, which had technical issues and a language mismatch. I followed up and eventually got a generic rejection message.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- Which insight are you most proud of?
- What appeals to you about this role?
Developer
The interview at BMW Group was a rewarding and challenging experience. The team was welcoming and the questions allowed me to show my skills and knowledge, aligning them with the company's values. I'm excited about the chance to contribute to the brand's innovation and excellence.
- How do you handle high-pressure situations at work?
Project Engineer
It was tough, but I was invited to the interview relatively quickly. The HR person was very friendly, but she wanted to know specifically why I applied to BMW. There were also classic questions, like what my weaknesses are. A suit was mandatory; BMW is very conservative. The conversation was pleasant, but you shouldn't let the HR person talk for too long. Interjecting with questions is allowed.
- Why did you choose BMW?
- Could you elaborate on your role and responsibilities in [specific project from CV]?
- Describe your strategy for engaging with a client to ensure a successful project kickoff.
