First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BMO US.
Software Engineer Intern
It was a pretty chill process. Went through 4 rounds total. Started with a phone call, then a technical interview focused on basic coding. After that, there was an SQL-based assessment. The final round was just a meeting with HR.
- Can you explain what the Fibonacci Sequence is?
Software Engineer Intern
It was a panel interview. They asked questions from my resume and also some sql questions. The interviewer was very brief and interrupted me a lot while I was answering, then she'd just ask more questions.
- Can you explain what a join is in SQL?
Software Developer
First there was a phone screen, then I had to go to the Chicago office for 4 interviews that were each 30 minutes long. I met with a first-year analyst, a mid-level manager, a technology manager, and a senior manager who had a tech background. Most of these interviews were behavioral, except for the tech manager who asked questions about random things from my resume. After I finished, the recruiter said I'd hear back in a week, but I never did, even after I emailed them to ask for an update.
