Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BMO US.
Intern
It was a really long and drawn-out process. They weren't very responsive and didn't communicate well about what was happening. The interview itself was okay, but the communication was bad. I probably wouldn't want to go through it again.
- Tell me about your previous experience.
Intern
It was a pretty chill interview process. Started with a self-recorded video interview, then a virtual super day that had two interviews back-to-back. They mostly asked basic behavioral questions, and some stuff about relevant coursework, but no real technical questions. It felt more like a conversation than a strict interview.
- Could you share an instance when you didn't achieve a goal?
- Describe a situation where you failed to meet a goal.
- Tell me about a time when you weren't able to meet your objective.
Intern
The last part of the interview was mostly behavioral questions, and they were mainly trying to gauge engagement in past interviews and what I learned from the other interviewers. They also asked what I knew about the company and why I chose this bank over other ones.
- What gets you excited about working in Tech?
- What did you learn from other interviewers in past interviews?
- What do you know about this company?
