Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BMO Capital Markets.
Business Analyst
I found the role through a recruiter. I had just one interview with the hiring manager, who was quite friendly. She asked me questions about my previous experience, but they weren't the usual kind. She also told me about the job I'd be doing, and that was it.
- What draws you to Client Onboarding?
- Regarding customer service, what aspects do you find most appealing?
Business Analyst
They have a lot of screening phases, like recorded interviews, questions, and emails. It shows how impersonal the bank is and that they don't care too much about their internship recruiting. The questions are basic and don't go in depth to get great responses out of candidates, making the screening interviews very difficult to get through.
- Can you tell me about an accomplishment you're particularly proud of?
Business Analyst
We had a self-recorded interview first, with behavioral questions. Then, there was a second round with two project directors. This interview covered functional, technical, and questions about my past work experience. They also mentioned skills like SQL, business analysis, and project management as relevant.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- What are your hobbies?
- Can you walk me through your past roles and responsibilities?
