The entire interview process was very fast, wrapping up in about a week. There were two rounds, both conducted virtually. The first round included a mix of behavioral questions and some easy technical ones. The second round was exclusively behavioral. It's crucial to have a good answer for "Why BMO?"

This was a technical and behavioral interview. I needed to show I understood the market well and present a strong stock pitch. They asked about market trends and interest rates, and wanted to see my well-thought-out opinion on where the market is going.

Behavioral Technical

I had a really good time interviewing. My first part was in New York and had 2 interviews in a row with associates. They were totally behavioral and pretty chill. They called me later that day to say I was invited to the second and last part, also in New York. The final part had 5 interviews in a row with VPs and MDs. Each was supposed to be 30 mins, but they all went over. 4 were behavioral and 1 was technical. The technical interview had random finance questions. Some were about the market, some about the yield curve, and some about Europe and the presidential election and I had to pitch a stock. No brain teasers. Everyone was super nice and wanted to help me do well. I heard back 2 weeks later by phone that I got the job.

  • Could you define the VIX?
  • What is the volatility spread?
  • Give me a stock pitch.
