This was the first round for a Senior Product Manager role in the US. I spoke with the Talent Acquisition team and cleared that. After that, I was supposed to have a call with the Hiring Manager. I gave my availability for the next two weeks, but never heard back. They eventually let me know that the position was put on hold.

So the interview process for me was super quick, like a week from applying to getting the offer. First, there was a 30-minute call with a recruiter from Bluevine. Then, a 30-minute video chat with the hiring manager. The final round was a 1.5 hour video interview with the hiring manager and three folks from the hiring committee. They mentioned a skill test usually, but they were cool and just took my samples. The recruiter was really nice, super warm and easy to talk to, and she knew her stuff. She made the whole thing feel so smooth. After the first call, she kept me in the loop and cheered me on. The second interview was great for understanding the role better with my potential manager. He seemed genuine and really into his job. The last interview with him and the other three was with people who really get my field. Everyone was friendly again, and they answered all my questions with excitement and honesty. Honestly, I left that interview feeling really energized and excited about the possibility of working with them. They asked for references right after, and I got the offer the very next afternoon.

Everything seemed smooth for the first 3 stages, with the prospective teammates and hiring manager providing ample positive feedback. Then, for the final round, I was asked to work on a case study presentation, which the manager spent 1.5 hours on the phone guiding me for. He proudly told me he spent 3-5 hours every week on hiring since 'that's what it takes to hire the best'. After working on it for a few days, I submitted it the night before and got a rejection email in the morning before the time I was supposed to present it to the team. The hiring manager offered feedback over a call, postponed it, then ghosted. At best, this is a weak and immature hiring manager in an otherwise okay company who either does not know how to prioritize work or doesn't wield enough authority to impact hiring as he'd like. At worst, this company reeks of gross neglect towards applicants and employees alike. Either way, do yourself a favour and skip applying to Bluevine - they do not value your application or time and lack basic decency in doing business.

I applied via LinkedIn and was contacted by a recruiter for a phone call. They discussed the business, work culture, and the hiring process. Following that, there were 3 rounds of technical and behavioral interviews. The first was with the hiring manager, focusing on my experience and past projects, and included a discussion about the company's business and tech stack. After this, the recruiter contacted me to schedule the next rounds for the following week. Three different rounds were scheduled for the same day. The first was with a Product owner, covering development processes and how engineering and product teams collaborate, with them explaining their company's approach. The second was an online coding assessment, which I found engaging. The final round was with senior management, a mix of technical and behavioral questions in an open discussion. A few days later, the recruiter extended an offer, detailing onboarding, training, and health plans. I couldn't accept due to personal reasons but would consider it if circumstances changed.
