I got a message on LinkedIn from a recruiter about an account executive position based on my experience. We had a video call, and the recruiter seemed focused on my average deal size, W2, and quota attainment. He pushed back because I hadn't sold into the video conferencing market, even though he reached out to me. He didn't seem attentive and said he'd call the next day but never did, and he didn't reply to my emails. When I called him two days later, he claimed to be at a conference and would talk to hiring managers, but I never heard back. Two weeks later, I got an email saying they weren't interested. I've seen reviews about this company's culture declining, but this experience from the start was really bad. It felt like he was just trying to fill a quota, and it was insulting and a huge turn-off for a company I used to think was great.

A recruiter from BJN reached out to me about a sales role. We had a video call that went well, and the recruiter was responsive to my follow-up questions. Within a week, I interviewed with a sales manager. The interview was engaging, and we discussed my experience and how it fit with BJN, including the potential accounts and revenue I could generate. The sales manager suggested I meet with their VP of Sales that week and said he'd call me back in two days. I sent a thank-you email, but heard nothing after two days, or four days. I emailed asking about next steps, but got no response. I also contacted the initial recruiter, but received no reply. After a few more days, I left a voicemail for the sales manager, still no response. My final attempt was an email to the sales manager about proceeding with the VP of Sales meeting, but again, nothing. It's incredibly unprofessional and cowardly that after reaching out, conducting two interviews, and suggesting a meeting with the VP, BJN failed to provide any update, even a rejection. They wasted my time, and I ended up accepting a job I preferred shortly after.

I was referred to this role by someone I knew, and the whole experience was really great. The HR person was super helpful with all my questions and got back to me fast. I had 4 interviews over about 2 and a half weeks, all on Blue Jeans, so it was good to see everyone I was talking to. All in all, it was a solid interview process. The questions were tough, but I got lots of chances to ask my own questions and got straight answers.
