The interview process started off pretty well and I was feeling good about it, but the recruiter's communication after the technical rounds was a bit disappointing. Even though I got positive feedback from all the technical interviewers, when it came to compensation talks with HR, things got strange. After just one meeting, the HR went completely silent. Despite my follow-ups, they eventually rejected me, saying my salary expectations were too high, which was odd because we'd already touched on that in the first call. I was really keen on this role because it involved deep learning, but after reading other reviews and my own experience, I'm having second thoughts. I'd suggest the HR team improve their process for a better candidate experience and be upfront about budget constraints earlier, rather than wasting everyone's time on interviews if the core requirements don't align. I had to do a take-home test that took a lot of time. Then there was supposed to be a technical round, but I wasn't told what it would be about. The whole experience was really awkward because the interviewer was aggressive and insensitive, and didn't let me ask any questions. She kept pushing me to speak German even though it wasn't required and I'd said I was a beginner. The questions weren't even about my homework solution, she kept asking about a different forecasting method that wasn't right for the task. I answered everything, but it was just strange and the questions weren't clear. Despite good referrals, this interviewer was tough.
