First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Blue Star Infotech.
Software QA Engineer
The hiring process starts with a written test which had 25 quant + reasoning questions to be completed in 50 minutes, followed by 50 manual testing aptitude questions. After that, a technical face-to-face interview was conducted. Since it was for an HP client, most of the questions were from Quality Centre, defect life cycle, smoke vs sanity, and STLC. This part was on Dec 21st. Candidates who passed this stage were supposed to have an HP managerial round on Jan 6th/7th. However, I haven't heard back about the managerial round even after months, so maybe that's still pending or not happening.
- Tell me about yourself, your background, and experience.
- Can you explain the defect life cycle?
- What is STLC and its phases?
Developer
The interview process was quite disorganized. It started with a written test on Informatica and SQL on Day 1 at Blue Star. This was followed by two technical rounds, also on Day 1 at Blue Star. On Day 2, I had a technical round and a manager round at the client's location. Surprisingly, on Day 3, I had another manager round at the client's location. After these four rounds, the HR contacted me saying I was shortlisted for one more round, which I attended at the client's location. I've been chasing HR for three weeks with no response. It felt like a waste of time.
- They asked questions about SQL and Informatica.
Software Engineer Intern
The interview process started with an aptitude and computer knowledge test. After the aptitude test, we were made to wait the entire day. Only a few applicants proceeded to the technical interview, while others were dismissed without knowing their eligibility or when they might be contacted. The technical interview I attended was manageable and engaging, focusing on programming fundamentals and my academic project. They also posed common puzzles to assess our logic and knowledge. It's been a week with no communication from BSIL regarding the results.
- They asked in-depth questions about my academic project, specifically inquiring why I chose a particular approach over other potential methods.
QA Consultant
It took two working days for the interview process. There were two technical rounds and one HR round. The first round was a telephonic interview, followed by a face-to-face group panel interview for the second round. The third round was with HR. For the testing roles, it's important to be well-prepared on automation tools and database concepts.
- Can you tell me about the projects on your resume?
- Can you tell me about your experience with automation tools?
- Can you explain database concepts?
