Technical Recruiter
Recruiter calls, then coordinator books with another recruiter but gets the time zone wrong. I wrote down time zone correct and they missed the call, and then told me I did not show up. I showed them the invitation and said no big deal but I was where I needed to be. Sorry we missed each other. No acknowledgment from them about this, other than they would try again. Try book me to another interview with three teams, one is 15 mins late, very rushed call, and the other two are fine, one could not fix her camera so I turned mine off to help her feel the same. The organization of all of the interviews just hurt my head how bad the process was.
- What is your motivation for applying to Blue
Recruiting Coordinator
It was a really quick and easy process. I first chatted with the recruiter about my interest in the job, and then I had an in-person interview within a week. The interview started on time, and I had a great conversation with the staff where I learned about the workload and the general atmosphere. They asked fair questions, and I got a quick tour of the place. Overall, the whole thing took less than two hours.
- How do you feel about the culture and passion for Blue Origin's mission?
- What is your interest in Blue Origin?
- What makes you want to work for this company?
Technical Sourcer
The interview process was pretty straightforward, except I didn't hear back after the full loop. It started with a hiring manager screen, then a full loop onsite. The HM screen checked if I understood the basic responsibilities of a sourcer, focusing on the volume and types of requisitions I handle. They didn't ask me to write any boolean strings, which was a relief. I was happy to move on to the full loop, which consisted entirely of behavioral questions based on Blue Origin's leadership principles, similar to Amazon's approach to cultural fit, though the interviewers claimed no relation to Amazon's culture, which felt a bit disingenuous given the similar principles. Despite Blue Origin scaling up, I didn't really work with an R4R recruiter, just the HM to help me through. When I mentioned having another offer and wanting to schedule by next week, I wasn't scheduled until the week after. Without an R4R recruiter, I didn't get a rejection or any feedback.
- Can you share an instance where you had to apologize to someone?
- How would you respond if your direct manager asked you to do something you didn't agree with?
