Technical Case Presentation

We went through a few rounds of interviews. It started with HR, then a general round which varied based on the candidate. After that, there was a round based on a research paper, followed by a business case round. They might also have you interview with people from other offices.

Case Presentation

After two online rounds that went well, I was invited to a full-day interview at the Zürich office with back-to-back cases from 9 am to 3 pm. I found the experience quite overwhelming. For each case, I had 2 to 4 attendants (partners and consultants). The materials were not fully complete, and we didn't have time to first read then ask questions for more details. After a long, full day of cases, I was given 15 minutes to prepare a presentation about my passion for the whole office. Aside from the demanding interviews, the team was really welcoming and kind.

Technical Case Behavioral

It was a 3 round process. First round was an online assessment. The second round was a written case study and then an interview based on that case study. The third round was a technical and behavioral round which included SQL, guesstimate, and puzzles. The difficulty was moderate.

Case Behavioral Presentation

Excited for the onsite at Blue Matter's Zürich office after two good online interviews. But, the onsite was unstructured and disappointing. No chance to introduce myself before a written case study. Expectations were unclear, material poorly explained, and time pressure was intense without context. After the case, I waited alone for ~15 mins. Next interviewers arrived visibly frustrated, unaware I was ready—again, no communication. The behavioral interview was positive, interviewers kind and professional. But immediately after, they said the rest of the day was cancelled, decision already made from the first case. Communicated abruptly and without sensitivity, felt dismissed despite my effort. Understand rigorous evaluation, but the process lacked transparency and empathy. Clearer communication and a more structured experience would be great.
