First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts.
Analyst
I got an invite for an initial interview, then after that, nothing for over a month and a half until I got a rejection. I mean, it was pretty obvious it wasn't a good sign, but dragging a candidate along for that long and then rejecting them even though they're more than qualified is just really bad form.

Actuarial Analyst
Applied for an actuarial role and got invited to an initial interview. They confirmed availability and sent a calendar invite, but no more communication followed. On the day of the interview, the interviewer didn't show up, and I never got a follow-up or explanation, even after I reached out. It was quite disappointing to experience such a lack of basic professionalism and communication. I hope the company can improve its candidate experience in the future.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Intern
I had a phone screen with the recruiter, then an individual chat with the Director, and later another interview with the whole team. So, three interviews total. It was nerve-wracking for me as an intern, but the teams were good at making me feel at ease.
- Given that you live out of state, what are your reasons for wanting to work at this organization?
- Could you describe your work style?
- Can you tell me about your leadership style?
Marketing Manager
The recruiter told me I was a perfect fit and that the hiring manager's colleague would schedule an interview with them. I had to follow up multiple times, and each time I was told I was still being considered. Three weeks later, I got a rejection email saying they went with someone else who was a better fit. I never even got to talk to the hiring manager.
