I had a phone call, and then an in-person interview which was pretty quick and easy. There were other people interviewing and being interviewed at the same time. They said I got the job right away, but then the hiring manager took weeks to contact me, ghosting me for about a month before not owning up to it.

After I submitted my application online, I had a quick and easy phone interview that was pretty chill. Then, I got moved to a group interview at their Brooklyn shop on a Thursday. The interviewers were a bit late, but the HR person kept things going until everyone arrived. We did a simple tasting where we had to describe the flavors we tasted, like if it was citrusy, berry-like, tropical, or smooth. After that, we broke into pairs and talked about a time we lived by one of the company's four mottos. Then there was a cookie cutter tracing activity, followed by a Q&A. Apparently, Blue Bottle wants people who are loud and outspoken, even though they talk about Japanese management philosophy. So, you gotta be loud and maybe even a little wild.

So, first I had this phone call, but the person seemed kinda out of it, maybe they aren't there anymore. Then, I met them in person and it was way better, the vibe was great! After that, we did a group interview, it was all about working together and not acting like you're better than anyone else. It was more about learning and being open to new things. Oh, and a tip: family and community are super important to Blue Bottle, so definitely talk about that and what it means to you!
- Tell me about a past challenge you faced in a previous role and how you handled it.
- Describe how you've dealt with challenges in prior jobs.
