First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Blue Bottle Coffee.
Cafe Leader
I had a phone call with the recruiter, then two online interviews with Area Leaders and the Regional Leader. It was pretty easy since I have experience in leadership and cafe roles. I prepared for it, but it should be pretty straightforward.
- How would you increase sales in your store?
Senior Design Manager
I had an initial screening call with HR. It was a pleasant experience, but I felt the conversation was a bit vague regarding the company's culture and its vision for current and future expansion. Although the job description mentioned it's a regional role with English as the primary language, it seemed like local language proficiency was heavily preferred.
- Could you introduce yourself and explain your motivation for seeking employment at Blue Bottle?
Barista
I had a phone call, and then an in-person interview which was pretty quick and easy. There were other people interviewing and being interviewed at the same time. They said I got the job right away, but then the hiring manager took weeks to contact me, ghosting me for about a month before not owning up to it.
- Tell me about your hospitality experience.
Supply Chain Manager
It was a good interview experience, the whole process was really fast and went smoothly. The recruiter was very responsive and professional. We mostly went through behavioral questions, then some general interview questions. The entire interview process was very professional and responsive.
- Can you share an example of a particularly challenging task or project you've handled?
