First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bloomspot.
Account Executive
The whole thing took about 2.5 weeks. First, there was a Skype screening with an outside hiring company. If they passed that, Bloomspot set up a face-to-face meeting with 4 people: a recruiter, 2 managers, and the VP of Sales. They asked behavioral questions using the STAR method.
- Describe how you would prioritize your tasks if you started your Monday with a client voicemail, an email from a colleague needing help with a proposal, and a request from your manager to meet.
Account Executive
I met with an account executive and a sales manager. They asked MBA-style questions to gauge how I'd approach problems, which weren't too difficult. The team seemed very friendly and relaxed. Although I accepted the job, I was told a week before my start date that all offers were rescinded due to the company 'changing directions.' I had suspected the company might be unstable but decided to take a chance. Rescinding job offers so close to the start date is completely unprofessional, as most companies won't reconsider. This whole experience was incredibly stressful and ultimately a waste of my time.

Account Executive
I'm still in the middle of this process and will share more later. The first step was handled by Readyforce, a company Bloomspot uses. I applied through Readyforce and answered questions to see if I was a good fit. It wasn't always clear what they were looking for, but it was mostly easy to figure out, like rating how much I like change. My resume and answers must have been good enough. Then, I had a video interview with someone from Readyforce. Near the end, they asked me to pretend I was talking to the founder and to 'sell myself.' It was a really basic interview, just asking standard questions like if I had reliable transportation and why I wanted to work for Bloomspot. The oddest part was when the interviewer pointed to a past job I had, one that wasn't very sales-related and not much like Bloomspot, and asked if my work there seemed most relevant. It made me think the Readyforce interviewers weren't very serious and were just improvising. The whole thing took about 10-15 minutes.
- Imagine you're talking to the founder of Bloomspot. Why should I hire you?
- Alternatively, why would you be a great addition to the team?
- Can you discuss your previous sales experience and any rankings you received against colleagues?
