Software Engineer
The interview process was well structured and organized. I had an initial HR screening call, a technical interview with the hiring manager, a deeper technical round focused on problem-solving with the whole team and technical lead, and a final culture/fit conversation with a business partner. Due to the Christmas break the whole process took almost two months, but communication between rounds was clear and I always knew what to expect next.
- I had to prepare technical design of defined software application.
Senior Software Engineer
The process has 4 stages: an introduction, a technical round, an engineering manager discussion, and a culture fit check. After the intro, there's a take-home assignment that took me about 2 hours. The technical round involves discussing the homework and a code review exercise, which I thought was better than live coding. The engineering manager and culture check rounds are more about understanding your personality, expectations, and how you handle different situations.
- Do you have experience with Kubernetes?
Software Engineer
The interviews were structured, technical, and fair, and I got good vibes from the interviewers. But when we got to visa stuff, things changed. They told me they only hire through their 'passport talent' way and aren't used to normal contracts. I suggested a French contract, but they said no. Then they suggested a Czech Blue Card, but later said it would take too long, so they wouldn't move forward. I asked if I could check back if I found a faster visa option, and they said it might help future people but not me. It was pretty obvious it wasn't about skills or logistics, but my nationality.
- Could you walk me through your past projects and the technologies you used?
