First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bloomingdale's.
Sales Specialist
The whole thing takes about 1-2 days. You just apply online on the Bloomingdales website, and everyone who applies gets an interview. You get to pick your own interview time online after they email you. When you get there, you'll have a group interview with about 6-9 other people and an HR manager. She was really nice! Don't stress about it, the group interview is just for them to see who you are as a person. After that, everyone gets a one-on-one interview. I applied for the Women's Shoes Specialist role, and after my first one-on-one with the HR manager, she wanted me to talk to the department manager for Women's Shoes. She wasn't in, so I had to come back the next day. Some people were able to interview with their department managers and got offered the job right away. I came back the next day and interviewed with my department manager. It went really well! She said she'd be in touch. Later that day, the HR manager called and asked me to come in for an offer! I had one more quick interview with another manager for shoes, and then I got offered the job!

you must interview with the hr manager and several managers to determine what dept you will be in. you will have to do a mock phone interview as well. the process is not to bad just a lot of back and forth
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
Sales Specialist
I went in for an interview and the 1st interview went well so then they asked if i wanted to wait and do a second interview in 20 minutes so I waited, and that interview went well too, then they had asked me for a third interview and said that they would call me. They called me maybe 5 days later to do the third interview and that went well and i had gotten offered the job and placed me, and filled out the application and forms so they could do a background check. They told me that they would call me when to start for training. I got the call 3 WEEKS later and they said that there was a mistake made that the position that was offered to me was not there and kept trying to offer me lower positions. I was without a job the whole time. Play up customer service skills to impress them.
