I left my CV at the store, and two days later the Manager called me for an interview for the Assistant Manager position. After three days, I had an interview with the regional manager and was approved.

Behavioral Other

The hiring process was pretty standard for a corporation of this size. I interviewed first with the General Manager, then the Executive Chef. After that, the GM set me up to take a VERY long test that covered many different things, from personality type to potential restaurant scenarios and how I would handle them. It took about a week to set up my final interview after my results came in. I then went through their HR department and set up an interview with their chief hiring manager for that district. Everything went very well, and I was offered the position. We worked out my compensation quite easily, and I got what I wanted.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process was quite opaque, with a lack of communication regarding my application status. After an initial full day of interviews with six people, there was a significant delay of three months before I received any response. Subsequently, I was invited back for another full day of interviews with an additional four or five interviewers. Despite feeling the interviews went well and anticipating an offer, I heard nothing. After another two to three months of silence, I followed up with the hiring manager, who informed me that the decision was not made due to a single unsatisfactory answer to one of my questions by one of the interviewers. The process seemed to indicate a lack of empowerment within the company, as the hiring manager's decision was apparently overridden after numerous interviews, including one with a C-level executive.
