First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Block Renovation.
Software Engineer
The whole thing took about a month, starting from the first phone call all the way to the offer. We had video chats that were mostly about behavioral stuff and technical talks. Then there was a take-home challenge where I had to show off my coding and design abilities. Everything asked was pretty direct and related to the job.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Software Engineer
So the interview process was pretty chill, it was a bunch of short 30min interviews and a take home assignment. Started with a recruiter and hiring manager chat to see if I was a good fit. Then I got a take home assignment which took about 2-3 hours, it was to code a sorting function and design a database schema. After that, I talked with 3 engineers and one product person, which was pretty informal, mostly chatting about my experience and what it's like at Block. The last step was an interview with a co-founder and submitting references.
- Can you discuss a project you found challenging or where you had a key role?
Senior Software Engineer
I had a screening call with the recruiter, then I interviewed with the Engineering manager. After that, I did a technical assessment as a homework assignment. Then there was a technical interview, followed by a product interview with the product manager. I also interviewed with one of the engineers and had a behavioral interview. Finally, I interviewed with the co-founder.
- Can you walk me through your career journey, including key decisions that led you to your current role?
