Applied online and heard back from a recruiting company within 2 days for a screening call. After that, I got a work simulation project. It asked how I'd handle two client email scenarios and to create a visual design statement about my values. I followed up twice with the recruiter after submitting it and finally heard back 2 weeks later to schedule an internal interview with my future supervisor. That interview went well, and afterward, I got an info sheet about freelance contract options. Within 2 days, I received a contract for my chosen option. I started in the role about 2 weeks after submitting my application.

The HR team was really responsive at first, which was impressive. The interview process had a lot of rounds and included a take-home assignment that I actually enjoyed. I thought I was going to speak with the founder for the 4th round, but instead, I spoke with someone I'd already talked to. They offered me a freelance architect role without insurance or benefits, which wasn't the job I applied for. I asked for time to think about it, and they said I could take as long as I wanted on a Friday, but then on Monday, they rescinded the offer, saying there were misalignments. This whole experience felt like false advertising and a waste of time, with 4-5 Zoom calls leading to a bait-and-switch and the offer being pulled for reasons they could have caught early on. Given my experience, I'd be wary of their negative reviews.
