First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Blizzard Entertainment.
QA Lead
The interview process was very detailed and focused heavily on QA experience and skills. They were particularly interested in my knowledge specific to the QA job function and asked many questions about my past roles at previous companies.
- What are your thoughts on how to set key performance indicators for your team?
Quality Assurance Analyst
After you apply, it might take as long as 2 months to hear back, and the entire process, if you make it, can take up to 6 months. Whether you get the job seems to depend a lot on who's interviewing you. If they're super into a game like WoW and you're not, you're probably out. This happens a lot; if the interviewers are really passionate about something and you don't share that passion, it's like you shouldn't have even bothered showing up.
- How would you test this marker?
Quality Assurance Analyst
I applied online and had an initial phone chat where we talked about my current job, my salary expectations, and my skills, plus why I was interested in joining Blizzard. After about two weeks, I had a Skype call with two people from the QA department. This interview wasn't super technical; it was more about how I'd handle different situations in a team environment. A month later, I heard back that they'd filled the role with someone internally and my application wasn't successful.
