Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Blizzard Entertainment.
Associate Producer
So I first spoke with the direct supervisor for about 30 minutes. After that, they told me I was moving on and that I'd get info on what's next. The next day, I got that info and easily set up more interviews that worked with my schedule. Then I did two more interviews, each with two other people who were relevant. Those took about an hour each. Right after those, I got an email about when to expect to hear back. Then my recruiter called way sooner than I thought with the final decision and an offer!
- What's your approach to collaborating with people who have different personalities?
- When it comes to motivating a team, do you lean more towards "stick" or "carrot" methods?
- Can you share a tough decision you've had to make in past jobs?
Associate Director
The interview process was well-organized, friendly, and went smoothly. I really appreciated the follow-up from the recruiter and the team. They asked relevant questions, shared valuable insights, and gave me a good chance to talk about my experience and what I could bring to the team.
- Can you describe your understanding and methods for acquisition and customer marketing related to the specific title/brand for this role?
Associate Producer
The interview process was tough. The interviewer had a hard time speaking English and the call had a lot of interference. I mentioned the interference, but it wasn't fixed. It was really hard to understand them. If the communication was better, it wouldn't have been difficult. I think someone in management running the interview process should be able to communicate better with candidates.
- They asked a lot about diversity and inclusion.
- The other half was about the role.
