Had a phone interview first, then an in-person with the General Manager or upper management. The vibe was pretty relaxed, and they were really looking for people with prior customer service experience and knowledge about art. It was a pretty nice, not stressful, experience overall. Just be sure to talk up those qualities. Having worked at a high-traffic store before is a bonus too.

The interview process felt way longer than it should have for a part-time gig. I thought it would just be a chat with the store or hiring manager, but nope, had to go up the management chain. Met three different people on three separate occasions, which felt like a waste of time and made me miss out on another job I actually wanted. First, I met the Hiring Manager, then got told the Store Manager wanted to see me. After that went well, things went quiet for about a week and a half. Then, the District Manager called, and she was the last one. I was starting to think I didn't get it until she reached out. The interview with her seemed good, and she said they'd call by the next Monday. I waited a full 8 days and was getting worried. Finally got an email on Thursday saying they were moving in a different direction, even though they said they were hiring for multiple roles. It’s frustrating to go through such a lengthy interview for a minimum wage, part-time job and get false hope.

I had 2 interviews for the role. The first was with HR and the second was with the head of the department. Both interactions were quite friendly. The HR person went through some initial questions about my background and skills. Then, the head of the department revisited those questions and asked for more details. She also gave a more in-depth explanation of the positions (I applied for two roles). The department head specifically asked about my Excel skills, noting that many people claim to be good at Excel but can only do basic data entry. She emphasized that the work is very Excel-heavy and proficiency in the program is crucial.
