Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Blackmore Partners.
M&A Associate
It started with a phone screen where I had to walk through my resume. After that, it was either a Skype or on-site interview, depending on how far I lived from the company. For the Skype or on-site, I met with someone from the team and the general manager. They mostly asked questions about my resume and M&A. Since I'd taken an M&A class, I knew some stuff about their business.
- What draws you to M&A?
- Could you explain the differences you see between working at Blackmore Partners and in investment banking?
M&A Analyst
I applied online and they let me do a test. It is basically about some typical behavioral interview questions. Then the HR and another M&A analyst gave me the second round. The director gave me the final round.
- Why are you interested in this internship opportunity?
M&A Analyst
They looked over my resume and the recruiter asked about my understanding of their business, company structure, and the PE industry. It was a Skype interview, about 30 minutes. The second interview was with the managing director, lasting about 15 minutes.
- Can you tell me about your past experiences?
