So I had this interview, and it seemed pretty chill at first, the people were nice. They even gave me a verbal offer. But then, about a month after I started, I told my manager I needed a few days off for a trip I'd already planned. And bam, they rescinded the offer. It was a really rough experience, honestly, no empathy at all. Funny thing, a few weeks later, BlackLine reached out again asking me to come back. No way am I going back after that.

I applied online and got a call from HR the very next day. The HR team was super helpful in setting up the interview. The first round was with a manager. He spent an hour asking a lot of questions about the sprint process at my current company and took notes. I've been in over 15 interviews, and while most interviewers, especially managers or VPs, are usually really chill, this guy was incredibly annoying. After I answered all his questions, I tried asking him a few, but he shut me down, saying it wasn't about me asking him questions. Thankfully, I didn't get the job, and I'm thankful I don't have to work under him!

It was a smooth interview process. There was one coding round, one technical discussion, and then a Managerial round. The HR round was mostly about salary. The difficulty was moderate. They interviewed me for Java and Angular, and we also discussed best design practices.

The first round involved coding and automation questions. The questions were good and different from the usual ones, making it a learning experience. The interviewer seemed to have specific answers in mind and wasn't very open to alternative solutions. For instance, when I suggested using a wait time for an element's invisibility for an object not present in the DOM, which includes internal stale element and no element exception handling via ExpectedConditions, the interviewer was unsatisfied. He proposed setting the implicit wait to 0 and then resetting it. However, our default wait time is a final variable and can't be changed. Overall, it was fine, but the panel should consider different solutions offered as they might be better than their pre-set answers. Other questions were good, and the interviewer was knowledgeable.
