Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BlackBerry.
Systems Analyst
It was a standard interview, focusing on competencies and job specifics. I got to meet my future colleagues, which was a good way to connect.
- Can you share your experience with managing challenging stakeholders?
Business Analyst
Had a pre-screen with HR, then a phone interview with the hiring manager, and after that, I was brought in for a series of face-to-face interviews. It was a good experience overall, they ran it professionally and it all went pretty smoothly.
- What makes you want to work at this company?
Business Analyst
Had a phone screening first, then another phone interview where they asked me some role-specific scenario questions. The final interview was supposed to be in person with the hiring manager, but they got sick. The person who filled in for them didn't seem interested at all, looked bored, and mostly talked about themselves and their old job. They even said they were just filling in and didn't need to be there. I asked if I should reschedule with the manager, and they said it wasn't necessary and I'd be contacted. Then I got an automated email saying they weren't moving forward with my application. Never again.
- Could you explain your motivation for applying to this role?
- How would you approach this situation?
- Describe your experience with relevant tools or processes.
