Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Blackbaud.
Software Quality Engineer
I had a video interview with recorded questions where I had a short time to prepare and record an answer, and with both timed and untimed programming exercises. A phone interview followed the week after, and I got an offer about a month later. I didn't like the video interview because there was no feedback from an interviewer, but the phone screen was a really good experience.
- How would you go about counting how many times each number appears in an array of integers?
Software QA Engineer
First, there was a video interview that involved basic screening questions, asking me to type out my testing experience, and some timed coding challenges. Then, I had an in-person chat with a manager who mostly talked about my resume, past work, and favorite classes from back then (this was kind of spontaneous since I bumped into him at a networking event). After that, a technical phone interview happened. A few hours after the interview, they called to let me know I got the internship.
- Have you used any testing frameworks before?
- Can you explain how you test your code?
- Could you design a game?
Software Quality Engineer
It was a video interview with 4 recorded questions. I had 30 seconds to prep for each, then 1-3 minutes to record my answer. There were 2 coding questions, one of which was timed. Also, there was one question where I had to type out my response.
- Can you tell me about your process for testing code?
- What makes you a strong candidate for Blackbaud?
- Please discuss your previous work experience.
