I submitted my resume for the Associate Project Manager role and they got back to me quickly to move forward. The first stage was a recorded video interview. You get login details and a timeframe to finish it. It's automated: questions appear on screen, and you have a fixed amount of time to record your answer. It's not with a real person. It's pretty intense with a countdown timer, and you see yourself on screen while you talk. After you finish, there's a short video explaining the next steps, and then you submit it. I sent mine in, but didn't hear anything for two months. By then, I'd already moved on, so I wasn't shocked to get the rejection email. What was weird was that the day after getting rejected, I got another email saying they'd received my application for the Associate Product Manager job and would be in touch if it was a good fit. It was pretty much the same email I got when I first applied, even though I hadn't reapplied. Since it's a tech company, I think using video for interviews is cool, but it felt really disorganized. I was left wondering if anyone actually looked at my resume or video, or if it just got lost in the shuffle.

I was flown out to San Diego for a bunch of interviews. Some were video calls with managers in SC, and another was a phone call with a manager in SC. The rest of the interviews were in person on campus in San Diego, and they also gave me a tour.

Applied through the company portal with a referral. The entire process took about two months. It included two self-directed video interviews (asking the same questions each time), one video call with the hiring manager, and one interview with two project/program managers. Scheduling the hiring manager interview was a hassle, taking almost a month because she was too busy. I had to chase the recruiter for updates after each stage because he rarely followed up. During the interview with the project managers, one of them got distracted and looked at his other screens. After nearly three weeks, I had to ask the recruiter about the decision. He delayed for another week before telling me I didn't get the job, and the reasons he gave were pretty questionable. It felt like there was office politics and a general disregard for my time.
