First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Blackbaud.
Customer Support Analyst
So first, I had to do this digital interview that I actually thought was kinda fun. Then, there was a virtual interview with two people from Blackbaud. It seemed okay, and they said a lot of the job stuff is trainable, but it felt like they were really looking for something super specific, even though they said 'there's no wrong answer.' I asked what they were looking for and if they had concerns about my background, and they said they wanted exactly what I have and had no concerns, which is weird. After that, they sent me an assignment, which was easy and also trainable stuff. It's annoying to do work for free before you're hired, especially when so many people have transferable skills that just need training. But this assignment was straightforward, though again, they seemed to want something super specific they didn't spell out. Finally, a recruiter I'd never talked to called to say I didn't get the job. When I asked for feedback, they said no. It was a lot of 'take, take, take' from the company's side, and honestly, the whole process felt like it was all about them, not about evaluating me.

Had two online questionnaries, one personality and one skills, and then a 3-hour in person interview. The in-person interview involved a tour, shadowing, and several face-to-face interviews with different members of the management and support team.

Got an email about the job and if I was still interested and could do a phone interview. We set it up for the next week, but the interviewer was super late calling me, which was really annoying since I only had an hour set aside. The phone interview had a role-playing thing, usual questions about my background, some situation questions, and they gave me more info on the job. The on-site interview involved a written exercise, a judgment exercise where I had to pick a client to help first and say why, I got to listen in on some calls with another rep, and then there was a panel interview.

- Can you tell me about your educational background and previous work experiences?
- Do you have examples of how you've handled specific situations?
