Blackbaud Consultant Interview Questions
& Process

I applied through the campus website and then interviewed on campus as they were doing campus recruiting. I spoke with them at the career fair and then an interview was scheduled for the very next day. The interview was one-on-one. The interview was friendly and made me very comfortable. He asked me a few questions about my background history, skills, experiences, and what I would bring to the company. We also spent a lot of time on my passions for international development.

I was contacted by an internal recruiter and got through the initial phone screen, which went really well. The second interview was also a phone call, this time with a Practice/Consulting Manager (not the hiring manager). It involved a deep dive into my relevant background and experience with some really good, in-depth questions. This also went well, and I moved to the next step. After that, the recruiter asked me to do a case study, which involved creating a project plan and related materials. I was told I'd discuss this with a third Manager. I worked really hard over the weekend to put together a thorough, detailed plan with deliverables. I then reviewed the materials with the third Manager. I felt like this went very well too. About a week later, the recruiter left a voicemail saying they had chosen another candidate. I left a professional voicemail asking for feedback, and the recruiter eventually offered a time to talk. I tried contacting them then, but didn't get through. I didn't want to be persistent, so I let it go. Overall, it was a poor process. Recruiters could really stand out by just doing the right thing. The position is still posted three months later.

First, you have to check in at security when you get to Blackbaud. Then I had to sit with an associate who was talking to clients, which was really awkward because they kept complaining and muting the clients. Honestly, I'm not sure why this experience would make someone want to work there. After that, there was a brief interview where the associates asked questions that didn't seem related to the job. The office seemed nice, but the tour was pretty boring and felt rehearsed.
