First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Blackbaud.
Commercial Account Executive
The process was kinda messy. Some interviewers were late, and some didn’t even show up at all. They asked the same questions multiple times across different interviews. The video interview apparently wasn't even shared with the people who were supposed to interview me, or at least that's what the sales training director told me during the interview.
- Can you describe your sales process?
Enterprise Account Executive
The video interview I had, I thought went pretty well, but after was told they were moving forward with someone else who "has a higher chance of being successful". 3 months later, they still have yet to hire anyone for the role, and are still advertising it. I have 10 years of experience in this field, more than qualified, live in the state for which they are hiring, but yet was told they went with someone else, when no one has been hired. If this is how Blackbaud conducts themselves, don't waste your time.

Account Executive
I got lucky and had a referral, and after applying, I did a one-way video interview on HireVue about a week later. It was a bit weird, but you can do it on your own time and prepare, so just practice and be professional like it's in person because hiring managers will see it. A few weeks passed, and I hadn't heard anything, so I thought I was done, but then a recruiter called to set up an on-site interview. The recruiter was really energetic and easy to talk to, making me feel comfortable and ready for the on-site. The on-site involved 6 sales managers back-to-back for 3 hours total. It's clear Blackbaud only hires and promotes the best, and their management team showed that. The interviews weren't too bad, pretty standard stuff. Usually, I get super nervous, but this was really chill, more of a 'get to know you' vibe than a grilling. Just bring extra resumes and be yourself. I left feeling good about it.
- Could you please walk me through your resume?
- What makes you interested in Blackbaud?
- What is your motivation for leaving your current role?
