Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BKF Engineers.
Design Engineer
The interview process was pretty straightforward. First, I spoke with a recruiter, and then they scheduled an in-person interview at the office I was interested in. I met with the VP and one of the principal/manager folks. Overall, it wasn't too difficult; they mainly wanted to get a sense of my background and personality to see if I'd be a good fit.
- Could you tell me a little bit about yourself?
Engineer
The HR manager scheduled the interview and I went to the Redwood City office. The interview was business casual and lasted about 45 minutes. I was asked many questions about my experience and how I got into engineering. I didn't get the job because my AutoCAD experience was limited back then, but I'm still in touch. Overall, I had a good impression of BKF and the people I met.
- Tell me about your favorite project, including the tools you used, the challenges you faced, your role, and the final result.
Project Engineer
Got contacted by a recruiter and scheduled an interview. It was a Zoom call with three project team members where we chatted about the job, my fit, and then I did a topo map test.
- What makes you want this job?
