I first talked to a recruiter who said my background matched what they were looking for and basically guaranteed me an interview. I told her my salary expectations, and when I asked if it was in the role's budget, she was vague, saying they were “open.” I took it positively. Then, I had to complete a two-question personality test. After submitting it, I was ghosted for two weeks until I got a notification that the role was filled. I didn't get any feedback on why they didn't proceed. It's frustrating that they base decisions on a short questionnaire instead of human interaction, but I suspect my salary expectations were too high, and they saved money by hiring someone else. It's a tough world out there!
- Can you describe your professional background?

I applied online and then got a call from a recruiter the week after. She was nice and said she would send my info to the hiring managers. It's been like a month and I haven't heard back. She did email me a week after our chat saying she was still waiting on the hiring managers, but I never got any follow-up, even after I emailed her. From what I've seen from other people's experiences, this seems to happen a lot. I wouldn't suggest applying here, it was a total waste of time and unprofessional.
- Tell me about your current and past roles.

I went through a few rounds for this job. First, there was a pre-interview event on campus where some people from the loan review team gave a presentation. The next morning, I had a 30-minute in-person interview. It was a standard behavioral interview, and they asked me about my thoughts on traveling for work. Later on, I was invited to a final round interview in Indianapolis. This was about a 3-hour process where I met with three different people from the loan review department. They were all pretty young guys, maybe in their mid to late twenties, and very relaxed. We chatted about sports and they cracked a few jokes. After that, all the candidates went to lunch in the city with the CEO and other firm members.
- In a team setting, what role do you usually take on, and how do you collaborate with others?
- Regarding the travel requirements of this position, what are your thoughts?
