First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BJ's Restaurants.
Hostess
The manager interviewing me was super unprofessional. Their English was average, they didn't make eye contact, and it felt like they were just going through the motions because they'd already picked someone. As expected, they never got back to me like they said they would.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in working here?
Host
The interview process was good and easy. A person just talked to me about the restaurant, which is great. I will be having my second interview soon. I found it very professional and endearing. I hope I’ll be able to work there.
- What experiences do you have listed on your resume?
Sous Chef
The interview process was really easy and welcoming. They told me what I would be doing and showed me around the restaurant to get my thoughts on the industry. A really important part was when they explained the company's history and how I would fit into the team, which made me feel very welcome at BJs.
- How did you find out about this opportunity?
Server
So I had 3 interviews in total. First one was with an assistant manager, then the service manager, and finally the GM of the store. The whole thing was pretty simple, they just asked some normal stuff like 'tell me about yourself' and 'what's your experience'. It was super quick, like 15-20 minutes, with only a couple of questions. The second interview round was kinda messy though, they lost my application and had to ask some stuff again 'cause they didn't talk to each other, which was a bummer. But it wasn't a big deal, just something to watch out for.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself, and what kind of experience do you have in the service industry?
- What's your background like in terms of working in the service industry?
