Talent Acquisition Specialist
I saw the Talent Acquisition Specialist job at BitTitan on Linkedin and applied. Glassdoor said good things about them. The TA team hit me up within 24 hours and we set up a phone screen by email. The call started late and the interviewer explained the plan. We talked about my experience and what I'm looking for. She told me about the job and their motto is 'Get [expletive] Done'. She asked about salary and we got disconnected. I called her back and she asked about salary again. I said it depends but asked what the usual starting pay is. She responded dismissively. She used an insensitive term and I questioned if high-level candidates would get the same treatment. The interviewer then said they aren't moving fast on the role, which contradicted her earlier statement, and suggested it was a rejection. I wouldn't want to work there after the unprofessionalism.

Customer Success Engineer
It started with an online tech screening form, which was pretty interesting and took about an hour. After that, I had a call with HR, and a few days later, a tech interview with the Software Dev manager. He was 10 minutes late and in a noisy common room, so we had to switch to my iPhone for the call because I couldn't hear him well on my iPad. He asked about my API and tech diagnosis experience, and some use case scenarios, like what to check if only 4 out of 10 email accounts upload using MigrationWiz. I think I did okay on that. The process then slowed down quite a bit. I waited 9 days to hear back about the next interview. I followed up after 5 days, and after another 4 days, they replied saying I'd interview the next week and they'd get back to me. A few days later, HR called late at night (10:30 PM) to schedule the Skype interview. When I asked HR about other candidates, they said they were confident I'd get the job. I was told I'd be meeting the US-based hiring manager. On the night of the interview, it started almost 20 minutes late. There were two interviewers instead of one, and they weren't great at making candidates feel comfortable, coming across as a bit arrogant. They kept bringing up that they weren't my previous employer, a large tech company, even though I had to reference them for some questions. My support perspectives from the Asia market also didn't seem to land well. A few days later, HR sent a confusing email asking if they should check with the hiring manager and if I had met him last week. I confirmed I had and asked about a timeline, but heard nothing for a week. After chasing again, I received a generic rejection email. I asked for more feedback, feeling I had performed well, but never got a response. A few weeks later, I got an offer from a leading finance corporation. If you're looking for professionalism, you might want to aim higher than BitTitan.
- Can you explain the difference between a POST and GET request, and how would you handle an angry client email about a support issue?
- Could you discuss your experience with APIs and technical diagnosis, and walk me through a scenario where a partner using MigrationWiz has only 4 out of 10 email accounts uploading successfully?
- Tell me about your experience at [previous large tech company].
Executive Administrator
I had a really nice 1:1 chat with the recruiter. Scheduling was a breeze using their online calendar. We met in the office cafeteria/lounge area, which made me feel way more relaxed than being in a formal office or conference room. The questions were pretty average but good ones, and they actually helped me prep for other interviews. The recruiter answered everything I asked and said they were great. It was just a super smooth and pleasant interview overall. I already felt like part of the BitTitan family. Even though I didn't get picked this time, I'd totally apply again for other roles.
- Given your tenure with your current employer, what prompts your decision to seek new opportunities at this time?
Front End Developer
I applied online through their website and after about 2 weeks, they sent me an email with a link to an online test. A week after that, HR called me to say I passed the online test. Then I had a 1:1 interview with an engineer. I thought the 1:1 went well, but a few days later I got an automated rejection email saying they found other candidates, even though they said my abilities were "impressive". The job is still posted though.
- Could you explain what a closure is in Javascript?
- Tell me about which ES6 features you have used.
- Can you build a sample app showing the common JSON-API pattern?
