It was a 3-round in-person interview process, then a background check, and the final round included an offer. I met with my direct manager, the hiring manager, and the regional manager. The interviews focused more on personality traits than accomplishments. The relationship with the direct manager you'll be working under really makes the biggest difference in your experience with the company.

For an entry-level Sales Management Trainee role, this was a rough interview experience. Although I applied for a position in my home state, the process involved several interviews that led me to different locations along the West Coast. The final virtual interview was with two regional managers from Anaheim, CA. One of the managers was quite condescending and unfriendly, making the interview uncomfortable because it felt like my answers were being dismissed.

The hiring process was really long. I applied through Monster.com. First, human resources contacted me and I had a short preliminary interview detailing my background. It wasn't hard if you have sales experience. Then, I had a phone interview with the Regional/Area manager, which was about an hour long and not difficult. The questions were about my sales process, how to turn a client into a customer, and my strengths and weaknesses. The final interview was with the Branch manager at the location, which was really easy and about 45 minutes long. She asked similar questions about my sales process, sales strategy, and what I bring to the job. They asked for a hard close at each stage. About a week later, HR contacted me about an offer and scheduled a time to review it.

After I applied, I got a call back in the same week. First, I had a phone chat with the main recruiter, then I scheduled another phone call with one of the trainers. When I got to the office, I had to take a math test that had about 10 questions, which I think most departments, except warehouse, have to do. They checked to make sure I passed it before we could continue. After that, I met the main recruiter face-to-face, and then one of the marketing managers. I then went back for another in-person meeting with a different marketing manager. After all that, I got the job offer and we went over the pay and benefits. Once I accepted, they did a background check before I could start.
