Technical Coding

Automated interview, no actual interviewer. Instead, a series of questions to answer either by writing or by recording yourself speaking. Not much time to think or respond, which made for a not-so-great interview experience for selecting qualified candidates.

  • What is the difference between supervised and unsupervised models, and can you give examples for each?
  • What are some examples of supervised models?

Technical Coding

I got contacted over a month after applying. The first call was with HR, who only asked if I was currently working and still interested. They proposed another interview without detailing its nature, salary range, or specifics like remote work options or location. Surprisingly, the next stage turned out to be a technical interview, leaving me unprepared. To be honest, it felt more like a university exam than an interview, with theoretical questions about linear regression and evaluation metrics, lacking any practical use cases or problem-solving aspects. I'm starting to wonder if my understanding of a Data Scientist's role and the expected skills is completely off, but I'm tired of these exams that seem to just need a final grade. The second part involved a live coding session in Python, writing a very basic function.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Can you describe what a linear regression is?
  • What's the reason that absolute value distance is not suitable as an error metric?

Behavioral Technical
