The interview experience wasn't the best. It started with a phone interview where all 5 interviewers were on the call at once. I felt I was over-qualified, but due to phone issues with call cutting out, my performance suffered. The stress of preparing for every answer, combined with the phone problems and my hearing disorder making it hard to hear, was really difficult and embarrassing. I wished for an in-person interview to better show my passion and experience. They didn't really test my skills but asked about things on my cover letter that I didn't mention, suggesting they didn't review my application properly. I was surprised and saddened because I was qualified but never tested on those skills. They treated me like I knew nothing. After weeks of trying to follow up, I got an email saying my technical skills and experience didn't match the role's requirements. I feel they missed out on a good candidate by not asking more in-depth questions about game mechanics or other relevant areas. The questions were too simplified, making me question what to even answer. An in-person interview or having one before the phone call would have allowed me to demonstrate my value to the team.
