First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BioMarin Pharmaceutical.
Manufacturing Associate
The interview was fast and simple, with no technical questions. It lasted about 30 minutes and was more about getting to know me than about case discussions. I was interviewed for an overnight role. I don't like that it's a contract position, but oh well.
- Do you work well with others?
Manufacturing Associate
I applied online. Got a call back after a month to schedule a phone interview. After that, HR was supposed to reach out for an onsite interview about a week later. I didn't hear anything back, so I figured I didn't get it. But then, about five weeks after the phone interview, I got a call to schedule an onsite panel interview. It lasted about two and a half hours. Some supervisors seemed uninterested, and a lot of the same questions came up, making it hard to give different answers. It's been over three weeks since then, and still no word from HR about an offer or rejection.
- Can you share an instance where you disagreed with a company policy and describe your actions?
Manufacturing Associate
The interview process was very professional. I applied a few months ago and was contacted for a phone interview. They explained the role and company, and I received a reminder email for the scheduled time. A few hours before the phone interview, I got another call to confirm I was still available or if I wanted to reschedule. The actual phone interview lasted about 20 minutes, discussing my resume, school, and more details about the job and company. A few days later, they called to say they were interested in meeting me, asked if I had any questions (mentioning the pay range of $21-25/hr plus potential overtime), and scheduled the in-person interview. A week later, I received an email with the final schedule for a 2 to 2.5-hour group session with 5 groups of people. I drove to the bay area for the interview. At the site, there were two other candidates for the same role, and we were separated into different rooms. I met with 6 out of 10 supervisors, who were very nice, professional, friendly, and considerate, likely due to the holiday season. They asked pre-written questions and took notes. They rotated every 30 minutes, checking in with me and offering water or a short break. I felt good about it afterward, but it's been over 3 weeks with no follow-up. Overall, it's a great company with a dedicated and respectful workforce.
