Quality Manager
I had an extensive online interview process with recorded questions from senior managers. After sending videos and all the requested materials (Resume, Cover letter, essay, questions), they never replied back. I also had a scheduled informational interview, but the recruiter never showed up. She later sent an email apologizing but didn't offer to connect via Zoom again.
- Can you describe your approach to managing direct reports?
- What is your leadership style?
Manager
I did a video self-interview that I think had six questions. I had some tech issues during the interview, not sure if it was my computer, internet, or Biolife’s side, but there was no way to fix it or get help. All communication from Biolife was through unmonitored email, and the whole thing felt really impersonal and distant. I couldn't do much, and because of that, some of my video answers didn't submit, or I couldn't use the three tries they gave. I didn't get a second interview, and honestly, I wasn't upset about it because Biolife didn't pass my interview. They say they care about their employees, but if their recruiting team can't even manage a real interview, it's not a place I want to work. It felt like they just push candidates through like an assembly line. The email rejection didn't give much info, just the rejection and a link to their website for questions. I used that link to email them and never heard back, which just shows they don't care. I'll stick with being a Center Manager at Grifols, they pay better, and I suggest applying there instead of Biolife, where at least you talk to a real person.
- Tell me about a challenging situation you faced at work and how you managed it.
Quality Manager
It was an internal interview process, starting with a phone call and then moving to an in-person meeting. I was asked to prepare a PowerPoint presentation beforehand. The in-person part was supposed to have two interviewers, but one couldn't make it last minute because of an emergency. For me, it wasn't a surprise, as I've done this dozens of times before.
- How would you ensure the center is ready for regulatory inspections?
