It started with a 15-20 minute phone call, and then there were 5 follow-up in-person interviews. Each of those was one-on-one, with 1 person from HR, 3 managers, and 1 higher-up. They were all pretty casual, like they were just getting to know you instead of grilling you on your experience or knowledge. They did ask some scenario-based questions about problem-solving.

I was first contacted by a BioPhase recruiter who then forwarded me to BioRad for a phone interview that was supposed to be thirty minutes. The interviewer was 18 minutes late, asked exactly three questions, and rushed through my questions without providing any new information. I didn't receive any details about the job description, even after mentioning that my recruiter didn't provide one and I couldn't find it online. When I asked about the next steps, she said she had my resume and a few more interviews, and I might hear back maybe next week. She quickly said 'no' when I asked if she had more questions. I tried to ask more about the position and hiring process, but she just repeated that she had my resume and a few more interviews. When I asked if she had my contact info if she needed anything else, she again said 'yes I have your resume' and then abruptly said 'goodbye' and hung up. The only concrete detail I got was that it's a three-month contract, temp position. It felt like she had better things to do and didn't want to answer my questions. The in-person interview was with the Manager, Lead, and a potential coworker at the Irvine location and lasted an hour and a half. I was initially sent to the wrong building and told I had the wrong contact person. I got to the correct location 15 minutes early and was met by a coworker who, although unaware of the interview, asked questions and provided information for the entire time. I was given a job and duty description by each interviewer and later received it in writing with compensation. The interview room was a small conference room with loud AC fans that stayed on for about 10 minutes.

I arrived and was taken to a small conference room by the receptionist. I waited 45 minutes for the first of 3 interviewers. They seemed annoyed from the start and each had a list of questions. They cut me off when I was answering one question and moved to the next. This treatment was odd given I had been a senior scientist for 9 years at Biorad, a company they were recruiting from. I never heard from them again. I know the person who got the job, which had been posted for 2 years, and he quit after 6 months.
