First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bio-Rad Laboratories.
Engineer
First, there was an HR interview. Then, a panel interview happened with a local HR rep, a manager, and a team member. The local HR rep was kinda rude, told me to 'be realistic' about salary even when I suggested a range that was within their limits, and was generally abrasive when I asked questions about the company culture.
- What's your ideal salary range, and please be realistic about it?
Engineer
The whole thing took about two months to finish. First, there was a phone screen with the team, and after that, a really long in-person interview that went for 6 hours. I talked to 7 different people during the in-person part. Everyone was really nice and made me feel welcome. They explained the company, the team, and what the job is about in a lot of detail. It took a bit longer than expected to set up the in-person call and get replies from HR.
- Can you tell me about your past work experience?
- Can you describe a past situation where you had to solve a problem?
- What are your career aspirations for the next 5 years?
Engineer
The interview process takes a while, but it's not super hard. I had about 4 hours of interviews with different people, then another 2+ hour follow-up. The whole hiring thing, like background checks, took ages, a whole month after I accepted the job. Honestly, the service Bio-Rad used wasn't the best.
- Can you explain the process in detail and give some examples?
- Could you elaborate on your knowledge of specific skills and processes, providing examples?
