First, I spoke with the recruiter, who was pleasant. The second meeting was scheduled with the hiring manager, but they had to postpone it, which is understandable. That conversation was very positive. It's been a month since then, and I haven't heard back from either the recruiter or the hiring manager, despite following up twice with no reply. I'd advise against investing too much time here as they might just ghost you. Apparently, a lot of people on Glassdoor did case studies and then got ghosted by Bilt, suggesting they might be looking for free work.

Applied for the TPM role at Bilt, but the recruiter mentioned they had closed it, though my background was of interest for future openings. First, I chatted with the recruiter about the potential TPM role's responsibilities, the team structure (pods), company culture, and the level of ownership for TPMs. It took a couple of weeks to connect with the Head of Product, which was understandable given it was a 'bench' role. After that, I spoke with someone from engineering to discuss how we might collaborate. The questions were complex, focusing on situational handling, my experience with engineers, and adaptability. I'm still in touch with the recruiter as there isn't an exact role open now, but I appreciate their honesty. I'd likely proceed with the interview process if a suitable role opens up; it's been a positive experience so far. Haven't visited the office yet.

Just finished the interview for Senior Backend Engineer. First round was online coding to fix some tests, it was pretty easy and straightforward. Second round was behavior questions/ past projects deep dive, focusing on tech stack used and "Tell me about a time when..." questions. Last round was onsite System Design interview to design a batch system for banks. The interviewers seemed unfamiliar with the question and complained about weird constraints. The recruiter was responsive but forgot to send an invitation for the second round and disappeared after the last round. They are a startup and still working on improving the process. The office was the smallest I've ever seen, packed and chaotic.

First, I had a quick 13-minute chat with a recruiter about the basics. Then, the hiring manager scheduled a 24-minute Google Meet to see my skills and how I approach design. For that, I had to do a 'Project Assessment' within 3 days, which was tough because it was a long holiday weekend. I sent it in and got a confirmation that it would be reviewed, but I never heard back, even after following up. It feels exploitative and discouraging when you put in the work and get no response. It seems like this is a common issue based on other reviews too. It's really disheartening.
