Worst interview process I ever had. The recruiter and first interview with the manager were good. Expectations were set on salary, timelines, requirements for the role, what they were looking for, etc. Next was a panel interview/presentation with two VPs and the manager, then a final interview with the CRO. I was told I had 2 strong yes and 2 yes. A week later I was then told they hired a new SVP and I will need to do an interview with them. The SVP showed up late, told me he was in back to back meetings all week, and then grilled me with questions that had nothing to do with the job. He had an unprofessional attitude, sighed a lot, and I had to repeat myself multiple times because he wasn't listening to my answers. He then said I wouldn't be a fit for what he was trying to build when he had just joined the company VERY recently. I then had to wait another week until I got a response that they were moving forward with someone else. When I asked for feedback, they said they felt I could not prospect when I had gotten the exact opposite feedback from all the other VPs, CRO, and my manager. Every sales manager, VP, CRO, and many others have been in their roles for less than 6 months and do not have experience in this industry. Do not leave your job for this company they have multiple leaders all trying to do their own thing. Trust the reviews you read on this site.
- What would your previous managers say about you?
Sales
Had easy questions during multiple phone interviews with different interviewers. After that, if they were impressed, I met with multiple managers. The whole process felt unnecessarily long, and the phone interviews felt like I was repeating myself.
- Tell me about your sales experience.
Sales
It started with a phone call, and then they set up an onsite with the team pretty quickly. The screening and interview process was efficient and direct. I met with all the main executives in person and they offered me calls with other relevant remote employees. After working there a short time, I've realized the people and culture are even better than I expected. Billtrust is serious about hiring – they know if there's a fit or not, and you'll find out quickly.
