I was reached out by a Billtrust recruiter on LinkedIn for a project manager role. She was super helpful and communicative and then set me up for a 30-minute phone interview with a Talent Acquisition Partner. The partner was nice and asked basic questions about my experience. They asked for my resume again and said they would let me know about next steps. I sent my resume and an email saying I was still interested, but then got ghosted. No call, no email saying I wasn't moving forward. Given how things are for job seekers right now with layoffs and everything, this was really unprofessional. Super disappointing because I was qualified and excited about the job. Billtrust, please tell candidates when they aren't being considered. It's the least you can do.

This was one of the worst and lengthiest interview processes ever - I'd stay away from applying here. It started with a recruiter call where they asked basic questions about me and reviewed my resume. Then, I spoke with the team lead who seemed to really like my background and passed positive feedback to the recruiter. After that, I had Zoom calls with three other team members. They all gave me positive feedback during our chats, saying I had the skills for the role and had clearly done my homework on the company. Nobody ever told me I lacked a skill or qualification for the job. Once I finished meeting everyone, I had a final call with the recruiter. She mentioned I was the first to complete the whole process and that they wanted to interview other candidates, so I'd hear back soon. A week later, I followed up via email and was told I'd get a call that day. They ended up deciding not to move forward because they apparently wanted someone comfortable and experienced with external customer communication, and they were planning to shift the role to a more senior level. This is wild because they clearly didn't read my resume or listen during our calls when I explicitly detailed my extensive customer interactions. Also, the recruiter initially told me my years of experience might be too much for what she called an ENTRY LEVEL position. It's frustrating to be put through so much trouble and time, meeting so many people, only for them to change the role's requirements and claim I lack skills I've had for years. Seriously, stay away and don't bother applying! It was a complete waste of my time.
