& Process

The interview process had 4 stages. First was a call with the recruiter. Then, there was a meeting with two people from the team. After that, there was a chemistry chat, which was the final stage. I really enjoyed the whole process. I didn’t get the job but received some really constructive feedback which was nice. Everyone that I met was super kind and nice.

After a screening call with HR, I made it to the first interview stage with the hiring manager. The questions were pretty standard, with a few mentions of AI, for some reason. What really got me was that they never got back to me afterward. People prepare for these interviews, and if you're just wasting my time, at least have the decency to tell me I didn't get the job. Honestly, it's just rude. Maybe it's for the best, though, considering some of the reviews I read were pretty alarming.

First I chatted with the hiring manager over video. Then, I sent in some writing samples and got an assessment to do, which involved coming up with a webinar concept, complete with a presentation and a promotion strategy. After that, I had a video call with HR. I thought they'd give me the lowdown on salary and benefits, but instead, they just wanted to know my salary expectations, and didn't share the company's range or any details on benefits. It was weird because this was after I'd already done the assessment. The third step was another video chat with the hiring manager where I had to discuss and pitch my assessment. Honestly, it felt like they weren't quite sure what they were looking for in this role, even though they kept going over the job description. I never heard back after the last round.

Had a phone call with HR, then got invited to a video chat. They mentioned a task round where I would present in person. The video chat seemed to go okay, but I got the impression they were looking for way more experience than the pay offered (£35k budget from HR). I didn't make it to the task round because, after chasing them 3 times for an update (I suspect people were on Christmas break and forgot about me), they told me I don't have enough global audience experience, despite my current role at a major global broadcaster. Friends who have worked there or with them have said it's a terrible place to work. One friend was happy there until they were unexpectedly fired after 6 months, and another who works in production externally said they're quite disorganized.
