The interview process was pretty straightforward, and the recruiter was helpful in explaining it. It started with a chat with the recruiter, then an interview with the hiring manager. The hiring manager really dug into one of my recent projects, asking a ton of follow-up questions about challenges, risks, data, success, and so on. The hiring manager was prepared and asked good questions. After that, I didn't hear anything for about 10 days. Then, I was asked to give a presentation on a case question, with only 4 days to get ready. During the presentation, there were five people, but one left after about 5 minutes. I was expecting a lot of questions, but they only asked me one. That made me think they'd already decided on someone else, so my 4 days of work on the case felt like a waste. The recruiter later confirmed they had made an offer to someone else, and that's why I didn't get the job.

The interview process at Bill was pretty thorough. It started with a presentation, then there was a loop with a bunch of important people. It was a good chance to show what I can do and meet different folks on the team. The interviewers were nice and professional, which made things pretty comfortable. The presentation and the interview loop definitely took up a good chunk of time, but I was happy to put in the effort because I'm really interested in the job and the company. The interviewers were great to talk with, and it seems like Bill is a place that really cares about teamwork and supporting each other. The main bummer was that after we finished everything, the recruiter just went silent. I put in a lot of time and effort, and I never heard back about whether I got the job or even any feedback. It's super important for candidates to get updates, even if it's not good news. Not hearing back at all was pretty disappointing and left me feeling like I didn't get closure after such a big interview process. So, the actual interviews were really good, and I enjoyed learning about Bill. But the silence from the recruiter afterward was a letdown, and I hope they fix that.

So, the interview for this Staff Product Manager role was basically a case study. I had to prep a presentation that addressed a given scenario. First, I had a Zoom call that was an hour long with five people on the panel. I presented my case study analysis and then we had a discussion with questions. After that, I met with five different people, each for about 30 minutes. This part was good to get a feel for the company culture and see the skill level of the team.
