First I talked with people & culture, then the hiring manager. After that, I interviewed with two other CSMs and then the hiring manager again. It was pretty standard interview questions since they were hiring a lot then.

A recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn about a Sales Operations Analyst role. We had a 30-minute preliminary chat where they asked about my salary expectations. Despite being told I might be a 'hard sell', they said we would move forward to an interview with the hiring manager. I sent a thank you note, but then heard nothing back after following up with the recruiter twice. It felt like I dodged a bullet, and it gave me a sense of the company culture.

So it's been 13 weeks since this all started, and I haven't heard anything about my candidacy decision, which is a bummer. The people I talked to were nice, and the interviews themselves were fine, but the whole candidate experience was really bad. Every step of the way, I had to chase them down after a week of silence to find out what was going on. They'd say they'd follow up the next day, and then a week would pass. The recruiter called me the wrong name and even tried to set up a meeting with people I'd already spoken to, even though they said those people were out of office. One interviewer texted me the day after our chat to reschedule a meeting that was supposed to be happening in an hour. I was told three times that the current stage was the last one, but then after a week of no contact, they'd say they wanted another conversation or presentation. I've had great interview experiences before, and this was just so different. Even though I liked the people, I have to assume this is how the company operates. I still don't even know if I got an offer after putting in 15+ hours of work for a role they reached out to me about.

Had an initial chat with a recruitment partner. The call was cut short after only 10 mins because of a lot of noise from the other end (dogs, cars and cats - I think). The recruitment person (in Austrailia) said they would contact the hiring manager (in Glasgow) and go over the chat and my aspirations (which we hadn't discussed) and get back to me. I chased twice, there was no feedback after 3 weeks, so I withdrew. The recruiter never contacted me again. Not a very professional, or friendly, attitude. Has left a very poor impression of the company, something I never like to see.

  • Can you tell me about your CV, given we had to cut the initial chat short due to audio issues?
