I had a quick screening interview with the HR rep, who was friendly, and then a 1:1 with the hiring manager. The hiring manager was also very friendly and said I could expect an update by the next week. Sadly, I never heard back, and when I followed up with HR, I was told she would be in touch if there were next steps. I never heard from them again. For an exciting company and an initial warm and friendly start, I was disappointed they ghosted me and didn't even let me know they weren't moving forward. I hope they consider being more respectful of candidates.

The interview process at BigHat Biosciences was a great experience compared to other biotech companies I've interviewed with. Everyone involved in hiring was friendly, highly skilled, and flexible. Danielle, the Head of Talent, managed the process and offered clear, informal guidance throughout. The entire journey from applying online to receiving an offer took about 7 weeks. My schedule caused a week's delay, which BigHat accommodated, making the rest of the process smooth. After applying online, I had an initial chat with Danielle. Then, I interviewed with the Hiring Manager for the specific team, followed by a more technical interview with another team member that included a short lab work-up. After this, I was invited for a half-day on-site interview to meet all the people I'd spoken with previously, plus other relevant team members. I faced many insightful questions from excited scientists and engineers, and I really enjoyed their vibrant ambition and innovative mindset. I left the on-site with a fantastic impression and got an offer just a few days later.
