Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BigCommerce.
Marketing
The recruiter was great, but the interview process felt really drawn out. I went through 5 informal interviews. What was confusing is that the job description changed multiple times during the interviews, which made it seem like the hiring manager wasn't entirely sure about the exact role they were trying to fill.
- Could you start by telling me a bit about yourself?
Marketing
First, I had a 15-minute phone chat with a recruiter. They were really nice and shared as much info about the internship as possible. After that, they said they'd look over everyone's interviews and then pick a smaller group. Those chosen would then get a call from the director for a second phone interview.
- Can you share an instance where you had to quickly research something and then summarize it?
- Have you ever presented a new concept to a director or professor?
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
Marketing
I applied online and heard back from a recruiter within a few days. After the initial recruiter screening, I had a video interview with the hiring manager, followed by an on-site interview with the rest of the team. The whole process went smoothly, and communication was excellent. The recruiter was really quick to respond, usually getting back the same day.
